Disable Peripherals in BIOS (Robin, Woodpecker)

The US15W includes some peripherals that are enabled by default and can be used by the costumer.

The peripherals are mapped to functions which are grouped to devices as follows:

  • Device 0
    • Function 0: Host Bridge
  • Device 2
    • Function 0: Integrated Graphics and Video Device
  • Device 26
    • Function 0: USB Client
  • Device 27
    • Function 0: HD Audio
  • Device 28
    • Function 0: PCI Express Port 1
    • Function 1: PCI Express Port 2
  • Device 29
    • Function 0: USB Classic UHCI Controller 1
    • Function 1: USB Classic UHCI Controller 2
    • Function 2: USB Classic UHCI Controller 3
    • Function 7: USB2 EHCI Controller
  • Device 30
    • Function 0: SDIO/MMC Port 0
    • Function 1: SDIO/MMC Port 1
    • Function 2: SDIO/MMC Port 2
  • Device 31
    • Function 0: LPC Interface
    • Function 1: PATA Controller

Disabling peripherals

There are different BIOS entries to disable some peripherals. But please note, due to a PCI constrain, a Device always needs a Function 0 peripheral. This means, the following peripherals cannot be disabled without disabling the remaining peripherals of the same device:

  • PCI Express Port 1 (If disabled, PCI Express Port 2 is disabled as well)
  • USB Classic UHCI Controller 1 (If disabled, UHCI 2, UHCI 3, EHCI are disabled as well)
  • SDIO 0 (If disabled, SDIO 1 and SDIO 2 are disabled as well)
  • LPC Interface (If disabled, PATA is disabled as well)
